Bengal govt to give letter of intent on Tajpur port development to Adani Group

Kolkata, Sep 20 (IANS) The West Bengal government will soon handover a letter of aim (LoI) to Adani Port and SEZ Restricted for setting up and fostering a remote ocean port at Tajpur in East Midnapore region. The assessed cost of the task is Rs 25,000 crore.

The state bureau on Monday supported the proposition for giving the LoI to Adani Ports and Exceptional Monetary Zone for improvement of the greenfield remote ocean port.

State civil issues and metropolitan advancement pastor and Kolkata City chairman, Firhad Hakim, said the proposition has been cleared by the state bureau. “The venture will involve an immediate business potential for 25,000 people,” said Hakim.
