Savannah Guthrie Misses Rockefeller Christmas Tree Lighting Due to Flu-Like Illness: ‘I’m So Sad’

Savannah Guthrie was not in participation for the yearly Christmas tree lighting at Rockefeller Center. The Today co-have, 50, shared an Instagram post on Wednesday in front of NBC’s Christmas in Rockefeller Place exceptional, which started at 8 p.m., holding a thermometer that showed a 101.8 temperature.

“UGH – influenza or something like it since Monday,” Guthrie composed close by the photograph. “I’m so miserable to miss the tree lighting and TODAY. Ideally it passes soon!”

She said that she would “miss everybody” except that she would “be watching” the extraordinary, which she was scheduled to have close by Hoda Kotb, Craig Melvin and Mario Lopez.

Al Roker — who has been missing from the NBC morning show for about a month at this point — needed to miss the current year’s Christmas tree lighting as he’s recuperating from blood clumps in his leg and lungs that sent him to the clinic recently. He was hurried back to the medical clinic only one day after he was released.

Roker’s nonappearance comes soon after he missed the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day March last week, his most memorable time not showing up at the famous motorcade in 27 years.
